    Happy Birthday to Paper Secrets!~

Who loves Scavenger Hunts? Here is a fun one with Scrapbooking items!

    Rules:

Look on this list, then go check out your scrapbook stash and see what you have
You will need to take a picture of your findings, come back here and post the picture in the gallery.
Remember, items must be in your stash, dont go out and buy them for the Hunt

After this, make a layout or card using ALL the listed items!
    Whats in your stash List:

** Birthday Stickers (any kind of stickers with Birthday theme, balloons, cake, gifts, things like that)
** Already cut party die cuts (party hat, balloons, cake, etc)
    ** Multi-colored Rub-Ons
** newspaper/old book pages (for handmade flower) can be used if not touching photos (this is Optional)
** Cricut cartridge (or any other method of cut flower) with flower petals (any will do) use news paper/book pages to make the 3-D flower
    ** Ribbon & Bling & Buttons & Stickles/Glitter, Adhesive
** "Upcycled" item to use as embellishment (like bottle cap, or coke tab)
** ANY random paper in stash
** Birthday Sentiment, can be handwritten or stamp
    ** Ink
** Sandpaper (come on, this is a great way to distress your papers! )
** EXTRA: Birthday photo of YOU as a child

See, that was not too hard, now that you have all this in front of you, make a card or layout, showcasing the photo you picked .
After you have these items, lets see what you can make, B-day card, B-day LO, altered project, there is no limit!

PS.. This is all for fun, if you do not have all these items, NO WORRY, use what you do have, if you have something kind of like what is listed, use it!
After your project is made, please post it in the gallery in the album for Scavenger Hunt, I think its on the second page..

Done, well that scavenger bit anyway. I assume we post what we scavenged first, so as you can see what we are creating with. Just not sure if we post in the Gallery or not. I couldn't seem to get it to post here.

I don't have a cricut so I don't know whether this disqualifies me, it would have been fairer to say any die cut system. My recycle piece is from a soft can. I have 2 sheets of patterned paper from Pink Paislee the rest are scraps. As for the news paper or old book, I grabbed a old Autumn leaves paper with news print. I don't use newspaper as it is not acid free and I don't have any old books that I would tear a page out of.

I will wait to hear whether or not my stuff is acceptable before I move on to my page.

Fun challenge, but I have neither SIZZIX die cuts nor a Cricut machine or cartridge - I use a different brand of die-cutting system. So if it's not any brand of die-cut items, I'm out.

    Hi Keith

I was a little confused with this as well, I agree it should be any die cutting system flower. Or maybe just as long as the paper is shown before the flower is made, so it can also then be hand cut for those who don't have any die cutting system.

    Just a thought.

I don't have a Sizzix or a Cricut, either. What about any paper cutting machine (e-clips, silhouette, Slice)? Or just a plain-old flower punch?

    Fun idea, though.

I reread the requirements...she said "not a cricut" so she wantsyou to use a manually made die-cut..I'msure cuttlebug or else would be ok...

But don't take my word as gospel..I could be wrong

PostSubject: Question   Fri Apr 01, 2011 9:07 am

Hi there! Great game plus challenge, but I do not have already cut Sizzix diecuts, or a cricuit either. Someone suggested that maybe we could change that to a flower punch instead, but I don't have a flower punch either. My question...Does that eliminate us from this challenge or can we substitute with something that we do have? Do we need all the items on the list in order to participate? Please advise. Thank you!

Neat challenge! Guess that this might be my motivation to unpack. I have the camera but the batteries are packed somewhere else. (My challenge is I have the attic now so I can't put up shelves so where do I Put my stuff so I've been procratinating unpacking). We'll see what I can get accomplished today :)

Sounds like a fun challenge. I gathered everything on the list except Sizzix die cuts (not familiar with those), but I had plenty of HB Stickers...I will attempt to upload pic in gallery now.

I don't think you have to have every item on the list to participate.
See her first statement..."Look on this list, then go check out your scrapbook stash and see what you have"

Its the only problems with these games...lol you can miss interpret them.

I always thought a scavenger hunt winner is the person who found all the products on the list,..lol but I am not sure either.

The party sticker images says no cricut cut images but further down it says you need the cricut flower cartridge to cut flowers out of the paper/book paper.

So I don't have a cricut at all I have put my sizzix die cuts forward, neither do I use newspaper on layouts as it is not acid free.

The reason I asked is because she says we then make a layout or card with ALL the items on the list, so I'm not sure if we can participate in this one if we do not have them?

    Hey scrappers!

I am SO sorry for the confusion! And for getting back here so late, I crashed my computer last night, and its getting fixed, so I just picked up this one to work on..
I just updated/changed some of the items that are in question, I did not really take anythign away, just changed the wording..
For the Newspaper/book flower, if you do not have any of this, but can print , here is a really COOL free printable (I LOVE THIS SITE) http://www.birthday-newspaper.com/ you can use that, or just opt to pass ..

    Thanks for understanding
    Thanks
